Yep, More Repairs

The roofers fixed our leaky roof yesterday.  They had to re-shingle the 2 dormers.  Glad to have that out of the way.  Besides that, recently we have re-hung the wobbly downstairs medicine cabinet, fixed the soap dispenser in the kitchen, replanted our plants in to nicer pots, scrubbed more of the hardwood floors, and with the help of Drew's dad, built some really nice wooden shelves in the basement.  They look really good!!  Oh, we also started sanding the red room.  What a job that is. 

Bathroom Painting

What a productive weekend.  Drew's parents came here for 2 days and helped us with a lot of home repairs.  The biggest task was repainting the bathroom.  The old paint job was awful, complete with a long piece of hair embedded in the paint.  The previous owner didn't bother to remove anything when painting, so it just looked sloppy.  We sanded and spackled everything.  Then we painted the walls and ceiling.  Next weekend maybe I'll have time to paint the moldings around the window and along the floor.  The lighting is a little awkward in these photos, but you'll get an idea how much the room is improved. 

Poll Results

Most of you didn't make a New Years resolution.  Some just kinda did.  Yay for the one person who DID make a resolution.  Nice job.

Here is a 'before' and 'after' picture of our backyard.  We removed the weird half fence over the weekend.  The grass looks greener in the first picture, but that's because it was taken back in September.

Cold

On days like this I realize that hard wood floors are pretty, but they are also FREEZING.  Ceramic tile floors are even worse.  Oh man... I need more carpets in this house.  Luckily Bailey has taken a liking to sitting on my lap whenever possible, like right now.  She warms me up. 

Shoot-Out = UGH

What kind of fan would I be if I didn't at least mention it?  True, I'm a bitter, disappointed fan, but MOST of that outdoor game was very enjoyable to watch.  I wished very much that I could have been there.  Losing in the shoot-out was devastating.  It felt like the Super Bowl.  Ok, I'm done writing about this now.
