Off to Baltimore

We are going to Baltimore today to go to a baseball game at Camden Yards.  We'll also try to check out a few different areas in the city.  It might rain, but hopefully the big storm will blow through quickly.

Grocery Store

They don't sell alcohol in grocery stores in PA, but guess what they DO sell....  Fireworks!  Yup, they're right here near the entrance to grab your attention.  No wonder people were firing them off on New Years and Memorial Day.  I wonder how crazy the 4th of July will be. Actually, I likely won't be here to find out... we are probably going to Buffalo. 

Memorial Weekend

What a nice weekend it was.  3 days off, and perfect weather.  Drew has a few pictures on his site, so check it out.

Long Day/Week

I am working a full 5 day work week this week.  I haven't done that in a couple weeks, due to having to use up my vacation days or lose them.  There's no reason to use a day this week because the weather is crappy, and Drew isn't around because he has started his internship.  In fact, to make my week drag even more, there aren't many updates to people's blogs to read, and I can't write my usual pointless short emails to Drew randomly throughout the day.  Bllaah. 

In Drew's news, he did start his internship and so far it is going well.  Lots of training and stuff like that, but he likes it.  He told me he shares an office with someone, and it has windows with a view westward. 

Beer Events

We went to BrewFest on Saturday.  It was fun, and I'll try to post some pics on here eventually.   In the meantime, here are some pictures of my parents at their bicycle pub crawl in Hamburg, NY.  Check out the bike their friends put together.  Pretty fun looking.  I want to participate next year! 

Day Off

Wednesday night we went to see The Full Monty, in Media.  It wasn't a professional production, but it was still done really well.  It was a funny show and the guys were really good singers.  I thought the girls voices were tough to understand, partly because the music was overpowering.  But, besides that, it was a fun show.  The setting takes place in Buffalo, which was mildly amusing.  The poor city gets bashed pretty badly though... "I want to wake up knowing where I want to go, not going no where wandering the streets of Buffalo".... "We may be retired and living in Buffalo, which is probably an oxymoron."  Etc, etc.... and etc.   

Yesterday Drew and I spent the day home.  We did some yard work and sat outside for a while.  Now it's Friday and at least half the office has the day off.  It sure is quiet.  Yay, the weekend is almost here. 

Tuesday Blogging

Wow, what a storm yesterday.  I will have to go outside and spend a while picking up sticks and leaves.  In other news, Drew finished his last final exam for the year.  He starts his summer internship next Monday.  Though finished with school, he still has reasons to be at school every day this week except Thursday.  To celebrate Thursday's freedom, I took the day off.  Not sure what we'll do... ideally, going to a driving range would be fun.  Wednesday night we are going to see The Full Monty (it's a musical, in case you don't know).  Can't wait!  I know most of the songs but never saw it before. 

Julie and Ron

I am back from the very, very short trip to Buffalo.  Immediately after Drew's Friday final exam, we drove all evening, arriving around 12:15am.  Saturday was Julie and Ron's wedding, and the weather was absolutely perfect!  The wedding was really nice, and the reception was a fantastic time.  Julie looked really beautiful and was so happy!  The only problem was that it went too quickly.  I sorted through the many pictures and have made a photo album.  Please check it out.  Just be sure to let each picture load completely, otherwise you might think it's just blurry. 

Also, Happy Mother's Day (yesterday), MOM!!!!  I'm glad we were all together for at least a little while. 

Buffalo!

I'm about to head out the door here... it's off to Buffalo for my cousin Julie's wedding (which happens to fall on my birthday)!!!  Yay!  It will be a quick but fun trip.  See ya. 

Garden

Here is what our house looks like now.  The flowers keep growing and there's always something new to notice in the garden.  The other day I found the biggest slug I've ever seen!!  It was at least a few inches long with leopard-like spots.  Weird, but pretty cool.  Oh, I just looked it up.... oddly enough it is can be called the Leopard Slug... it also is called the great gray slug.  I moved him to a safe spot, and in a matter of minutes he had slimed his way somewhere else.  Quick guy, for an over-sized slug. 

New Camera

Drew just blogged about this, but we got a new digital camera yesterday.  He posted a few pics, so check out his site.

Happy birthday yesterday to Rob, and happy birthday the day before that to David! 

Today feels like a Friday to most people here at work.  Several people have tomorrow off, so their Friday attitudes are making it feel like Friday to everyone else. 

Not much to say at all.  Things have been pretty routine this week.
