Oh my goodness, that election on Tuesday was quite disappointing and disturbing. After work Drew and I went to vote, and then we watched the coverage on TV all night. I went to bed after midnight some time, and Drew stayed up continuing to watch. Woke up to hear the very disappointing news that Kerry was losing and Ohio was the deciding state. We knew it was over.
The part I find weird is that wherever there are cities, people tend to vote democratic. Is it because there are different cultures and stuff in a city? Well, I personally believe no one group or religious belief is right. When chosing someone to run a country, we SHOULD vote for someone who can see past their own views, and see the bigger picture. Sadly, this did not happen - and it bothers me. What would you think if our president said "Allah Bless" at the end of his speaches? What's the difference with "God Bless"? Why do we let religion decide our votes! Did you know Kerry is Catholic, by the way?
As for the "terror" thing... how come all the people who live in less populated areas in the US, where they HAVEN'T experienced terrorism, and don't really have to worry about it, voted for Bush? Yet, the cities that WERE attacked and are at the highest risk for future attacks, voted Kerry.
I am angry that Bin Laden was even around to produce that video last week. Didn't Bush say we would get him? That was how long ago? That's unacceptable. Oh, but we had to worry about Iraq, when it was factually determined they had no weapons of mass destruction and no links to Al Qaeda. Now everything's a mess and there are more terrorists than ever. But, let's keep Bush as president, calling the shots.
I could go on, because there are lots of topics that I am disappointed America misunderstood. But hey, it's over now and we will have to deal with the consequences of Bush for another 4 years.
