Baltimore Visited

The rain dampened our visit to Baltimore just a little bit.  We were lucky it cleared up enough for us to walk between different locations.  We stayed at a hotel in the Mount Vernon area.  We walked through downtown, to the Inner Harbor.  It's really designed nicely and there's lots to do there.  Boat tours, museums, restaurants, paddle boats, etc.  We just walked right through that area and continued to Federal Hill.  We got food and a few drinks at a cute pub called Porter's, just in time as the rain hit with force.  When there was a lull in weather, we went through an indoor market, en route to another pub called Ropewalk Tavern.  Big, cheap place... quite enjoyable.  After that, the rain finally ceased for good.  We walked over to Camden Yards and saw the Orioles get beaten by Boston.  The good:  Adding another ballpark to my list of ballparks.  And we got to see Manny Ramirez hit his 500th home run.  The bad:  Boston Red Sox fans.  Wow, they were everywhere and they were annoying.  But come on Baltimore!!  what kind of team has a small section in their gift shop dedicated to the opposing team!!  Never, man.  It was kinda sad.  We considered buying Orioles stuff just to help them out.  Some people we met in a bar afterwards did just that - bought Oriole hats.  So, if you go to Camden Yards, make sure it's not verses Boston.

Off to Baltimore

We are going to Baltimore today to go to a baseball game at Camden Yards.  We'll also try to check out a few different areas in the city.  It might rain, but hopefully the big storm will blow through quickly.

Off To Cali

Tomorrow, bright and early, we are off to San Jose / San Francisco.  We are going for Evan and Stacy's wedding.  While there, we'll spend a few days in San Fran and go to a baseball game, etc.  We'll be back Sunday, bye!

We're Back!

The trip was great!!  We had so much fun, and everything was all so new.  The time flew by and now I'm back at work, crazy!  I am having a difficult time explaining my trip to people who ask about it.  I will just have to create a photo album for all of you.  I'll start on that tonight, but no guarantees it'll be done any time soon.  I took a huge number of photos. 

In London

London is very neat.  It's like a different version of NYC.  We saw all sorts of interesting, famous things.  Just google London, and we probably saw the stuff you'll see there.  Of course, pictures and stuff will be on my site when we return home.  In a few hours we head to the train station where we'll depart for Nottingham.  Looking forward to the rest of the trip! 

Be back on Memorial Day!

Today we leave for England!!  We'll fly out tonight direct to London, arriving tomorrow morning (they are 6 hours ahead).  Very much looking forward to this trip, as I've never been overseas before.  We'll travel from London, to Nottingham to see our relatives.  Then we'll fly to Edinburgh for 2 days.  Goodbye, and enjoy the holiday weekend coming up. 

California Trip

Off to Visit Cali!

After we pack this morning, we are off to the airport and from there flying non-stop to Los Angeles, CA!  Looking forward to the trip.  I have been good at updating this blog, but there'll be a break in that this next week. Talk to you soon!

Buffalo

Hi from Buffalo.  Drew and I drove here Friday night.  We hit some traffic, but it wasn't too bad.  We drove in for Katie and Travis's wedding.  The reception was as the Orchard Park Country Club. (click for pic)  It was a nice time and they had perfect weather.  Congrats to them! 

Did I tell you my dad works at the country club part time as a grounds keeper?   Yup, he takes care of the flowers and rakes the sand traps... things like that. 

Sunday, we had a family get together at my parent's house.  It was very windy out for most of the day.  We shot off some fireworks at night.  I love the 4^th of July weekend!

Buffalo, snowy Buffalo

Drew and I went to Buffalo last weekend. We got there Friday night (late - no thank you US Air & LaGuardia Airport). There was no snow at that time, but over the next few days we got badly snowed upon. Well, look at the picture for yourself. It was that wet snow that really packs down, and it was extremely slushy. Other than that the weekend was fun. Went to dinner, and hung out with my parents group of friends. It's always a good time with them - played a dice game and had plenty of drinks. Returned to New York Sunday night. LaGuardia yet again was backed up... did loops in the air and even once we landed we had to just sit there a half hour waiting for a gate to open to pull into.

Hey all you non-Buffalo-area people, here's a picture that will probably confuse you (Except Tak who I explained this to). Look at this picture of a drink menu at a restaurant in Buffalo. We call soda POP!! Here's your proof - look for "Pitcher of Pop". Hey, I just noticed that a glass of beer is only 10 cents more than bottled water. Wow.

Disney World

Hello! Have to tell you about Disney World! It was so awesome, the weather was perfect and the 3 days couldn't have been much more enjoyable! We went to the Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios and Epcot Center. As a bonus, we went to see Ciirque do Soleil! Wow that show is awesome. Those people can do tricks I couldn't imagine anyone could do! Check out the little video on their website to get an idea what the show was about. CLICK HERE I definitely recommend seeing one of the Cirque du Soleil shows to everyone.
What else. I just had a blast in Disney and wish it didn't have to end. But, with a wedding in October, I couldn't spare a day off to extend this trip. Thanks to Drew's parents for everything that weekend. It was great to have the family together.

Off to Florida

Tomorrow (friday) Drew and I leave for Disney World!! We will be there until Sunday afternoon. Very excited!! We're staying at Port Orleans, the French quarters. Drew's whole family is going to be there too. It's going to be a really fun, but quick, weekend. Can't wait for the warmer temperatures, and the whole Disney experience again. Yay!!

Jacksonville

Hello from Jacksonville.  The weather here was lovely so far.  In the 70's.  Just didn't get too much time to go outside and enjoy it... with having to attend training classes all day.  We are staying at the Residence Inn, which is right by MortgageFlex.  The hotel is cool because there's free breakfast and a 2 hour happy hour every Mon-Thurs.  We are eating well, today I had filet mignon at a restaurant right on the ocean.  Too bad it gets dark early because it would have been cool to see the ocean a little better.  Jacksonville all-in-all is a pretty dull city though.  Those I've met do a lot of talking about their lives, which consist of driving big SUV's through traffic to work, and then returning to their little one story, flat roofed, near the ocean, house.  I don't know, it just seems too dull and predictable here.  And the people are exactly that way too.  The big news in Jacksonville is the upcoming SuperBowl - which IS a pretty big deal.  Lots of things being repaired around here in preparation. 

Returning to NYC tomorrow afternoon.  Not sure what are plans are tomorrow morning.  But the weather is supposed to get ugly, so we'll have to wait and see.   Oh, did I mention this hotel room is bigger than my apartment?  Yeah, it is.  And it has a bathtub and a dishwasher - bonus! 

Bye for a week

I feel like I'm always travelling somewhere. Tomorrow I have to go to Jacksonville for a week of training. Going to MortgageFlex to learn all about LoanQuest. Taking the trip with me are my co-workers Romeo, Tak and Michael. Should be a good week, and the weather is looking quite nice! I have no idea how to pack!

By the way, Drew and I have been watching the Return of the King. Long extended version DVD, but it's great! Gonna get going now, see you in a week!
